The Austin Modern Quilt Guild |
Our guild relies on volunteer members to make things happen. Committees form and disband as needed.
Every year, AMQG asks out members to make quilts for us to donate to local charitable causes. The members of the Community Outreach committee organize the nomination and selection of charities each year. They develop resources like patterns, fabric, labels, batting, and backing that guild members can use to complete their community outreach quilts. They also organize themed challenges for members to make outreach quilts. You can learn more about our current outreach activities here: Community Outreach
The goals of the Welcome Wagon Committee are to give each new member a personal contact within the guild, to act as a guild resource, and promote accessibility in quilting.
This committee reaches out to and welcomes new members to the guild, inviting them to connect with others, providing details of guild activities and answering any questions that come up.
This group of members organizes a block of the month pattern where one lucky winner takes home all of the blocks made by members that month.
A daytime sew-in event over three days in the Austin area featuring demos, workshops, games, and sewing. It's like a retreat, but you get to sleep in your own bed!
