AMQG Event Guidelines

Workshop Registration

Payment is due in full at the time of registration for a guild workshop.

Be On Time

Workshop facilities are available at least 30 minutes before the start of the workshop.  Please plan your arrive to allow adequate setup and preparation time (ex: setting up your machine and supplies, winding bobbins, etc.)

Bring the Needed Supplies

Workshop participants will be provided with a list of supplies needed for the workshop.  Please be sure that you have the needed supplies.  Borrowing from a fellow workshop participant may slow both their progress and yours.

Lunch Break

There will be a one-hour lunch break.  You may bring your own lunch from home or choose from restaurants near the workshop location.  You are encouraged to bring your own snacks and drinks.  If a workshop instructor prefers that participants bring their own lunch and stay on site for lunch, this will be announced as soon as possible.

Illness

If you are ill, please do not attend workshops, meetings or events.

Children

Our workshops are good for people who are 15 years and older.

Cell Phones

Please turn the sound “off” on all cell phones when classes or lectures begin.  Ringing, vibrating, chimes and/or conversations interrupt the instructor and are distracting to fellow participants.

Parking

For Events located at Cherrywood Center: Parking on weekdays is available in the parking lot behind the Cherrywood Center.  Enter the lot from E. 38 ½ St.  Please park tightly in the lot; preferably leaving 4-5 parking spaces available between 3:30pm-5pm. If overflow parking is needed, street parking can be found in the neighborhood surrounding the Cherrywood Center.  You’re welcome to pull up in the front of the building (on either E. 38th ½ St. or Cherrywood Ave.) or to the ramp from the back parking lot to unload your supplies and/or sewing machine, before going back to park your car.  Do not park at Maplewood Elementary School on weekdays/school days. 

Parking on weekday evenings (after 5pm) and on weekends is available in the lot behind the Cherrywood Center.  Enter the lot from E. 38 ½ St.  If additional space is needed, overflow parking is available at the Maplewood Elementary School, 3808 Maplewood Ave., Austin 78722.

Cancellations

• For a full refund, the VP of Events must be notified a minimum of fourteen (14) days prior to the first date of the workshop.

• For a partial (50%) refund, notice must be made four (4) to thirteen (13) days prior to the date of the workshop

• Those cancelling three (3) or fewer days prior to the workshop and those that are no-shows will forfeit the workshop fee.

• Our workshops often fill up and have a waitlist.  If you’re unable to attend, please let the VP of Events know as soon as possible.  If you are ill or there is a last minute emergency, please also let the VP of Events know.
